Somerset County Recycling offers free recycling education presentations to
increase awareness of successful recycling practices.
Audiences include but are not limited to:
Adult groups, Youth groups, School groups, and General Public.

Recycling Reference Guide

Plastic #1-7
Rinse plastic bottles, but there is no need to remove labels or lids.
To discover what type of plastic (#1-7), check the bottom of your bottle and look for the number in the triangle.
NO PLASTIC BAGS

Glass Bottles and Jugs
All colors of glass bottle and jugs are accepted (green, brown, blue, clear).
Please rinse, but no need to remove labels or lids.
Do not include light bulbs, dishes, glassware, ceramics,
window, or auto glass.

Aluminum/Bi Metal/Steel Cans
Rinse cans to remove residue. Do not include metal hangers, cooking pots/pans, or scrap metal.
Please keep cat food cans separate, as they have an additional plastic resin coating.

Newspaper & Magazines
Black and white, color inserts, glossy magazines, and soft cover books are accepted. Hard cover books are accepted, as long as the hard cover is removed. Keep dry and keep shredded paper in paper bags. Do not include confidential information on paper.

White paper, colored paper, file folders, and junk mail are accepted.

Corrugated Cardboard
Flatten boxes, and do not include plastic or foam packaging material.
NO Trash Please!
Do not include food or chemical contaminated containers with recyclables
Do not use plastic bags to store recyclables, as they will be treated as trash
